On July 6th & 7th we are delighted to offer this in-person camp where students will be shown key elements of a modern ICT course and learn skills useful in any future career in ICT such as: Web design - build and format simple webpages Java programming - develop a simple one-person game The 2-day camp, delivered through Irish, is designed to give second level students, between the ages of 13 and 18, a quick introduction to basic ICT subjects. The camp has two streams, one for each day where students try out: the Web Design stream and the Games Programming stream. The camp runs over two days with a daily set of in-person tutorials based around a single stream. The students are led through the material for each stream by experienced presenters and work towards building a small project. While there's lots to get through, we plan plenty of breaks throughout the day and students will work together to build their understanding of the content assisted by trained and experienced undergraduate and postgraduate students. The camp hours are 9:30am to 4:00pm daily and each day will focus on a different topic. All topics have been crafted with students aged 13 to 17 in mind and are suitable for both beginners and those who are looking to refresh their skills. This camp is free of charge thanks to funding from the Higher Education Authority’s Summer Camp funding, the only costs are the time taken to attend and lunch money. Sonraí Iomlána
