Career opportunities for school leavers.

Garda Reserve members are between 18 and 60 years of age.

While not a career, the Garda Reserve gives its members an intense training course and teaches valuable skills to the individuals that are accepted as Reserves.  These skills and the experience which members gain are invaluable to those at school leaving age as they begin their adult life either entering third level education or the workplace. more than 200 Garda Reservists have gone on to pursue full-time careers in the organisation.

Many people interested in a full time career in An Garda Síochána have joined the Garda Reserve first to experience the role and see if it is the correct career choice for them.
