What are the main entry requirements and recruitment procedures?

At St. Michael’s House, we welcome applications from suitably qualified professionals with a variety of qualifications and experiences. It is important to us that staff have a genuine interest in supporting people with an intellectual disability to grow and develop.

We are an equal opportunity employer. All candidates must be legally permitted to work in the Republic of Ireland, must complete and pass a medical check and undergo Garda/police clearance. All external vacancies are advertised on our website: www.smh.ie.

Selection process
-    Interview
-    Medical Check
-    Reference Check
-    Garda/ Police Clearance

Some of our interviews are competency-based, in which case candidates are given a list of competencies and an interviewee guide to help them prepare. In order to streamline our recruitment process, we develop panels for some grades from which future vacancies are filled.

Where to go for current vacancies?
