Why should I choose Musgrave when I graduate?
The Musgrave Graduate Programme is a multi-award winning programme designed to strike the balance between pushing you further than you thought you could go, and supporting you every step of the way with tailored training and mentoring.
Musgrave was named the gradireland Graduate Employer of the Year <40 Intake in 2021 and 2019. Two of our graduates, achieved the highest accolade by being recognised as the gradireland Graduate Employee of the Year, Ross Kerrigan winning in 2018 and Max Darby in 2021. We’ve also picked up awards for our training and development offer every year for the past 5 years so we’re confident you’ll get the best training possible from us.
What kind of educational backgrounds do Musgrave recruit for the Graduate Programme?
Depending on the role, we hire graduates from any honours degree discipline, from business to food science to Arts to IT. Some of our roles will require specific academic qualifications and we call this out on our job opportunities on www.musgravegraduates.com
How is the Programme structured?
Our programme is designed to build our early career talent pipeline in specific business areas e.g. buying, marketing, data analysis, etc. You can apply for your preferred area and if you’re successful, you’ll spend either two or three years working and building your skills in that specific area e.g. if you’re on our buying programme, you’ll work across two different buying teams over the course of the programme to develop the commercial skills and knowledge to become a full-time buyer. You’ll be in a real role from the very beginning with real responsibility and learning from experts in their fields.
What development will I get?
As well as the experiential development from working in a real role, you will participate in our custom development programme run in conjunction the IMI. This is focused on your personal and professional development. There are six modules delivered over the course of two years as well as individual coaching sessions. You’ll work on a business project in Year 2 that you get to present to our CEO and Executive team.
What do you look for in your graduates?
We’re looking for people who are passionate about food, community and who have an interest in business. We look for results driven graduates whose values match with ours, who are curious and eager to learn and who can bounce back from challenges in a fast-paced environment
What types of careers do you offer graduates?
We recruit and develop graduates for careers in buying, marketing, IT, finance, data analysis, food leadership, retail operations and supply chain, including transport and logistics. Former graduates hold director roles in our business and have progressed to senior roles in Musgrave and beyond.
For someone thinking of applying to the graduate programme, what advice would you give them?
